Clifton Care Scheme Minutes Of Committee Meeting February 2005

1/Apologies: Dave Morgan, Janet Pierce, Ruby Bland, Mary Reynolds, Joyce Tiney and Andrea MacAdam.

2/The minutes of the meeting dated 23rd November 2004 were approved.

3/Matters arising, Charmaine is going to do a Cooking For Singles Demonstration in May. Charmaine will also contact social services etc. to pinpoint people that will benefit from this and report back to us at the next meeting.

4/Correspondence-the next Network Meeting is on Wednesday 16th March at Cardington Village Hall 7.15 for 7.30pm start until 9.30pm.

-We received a letter from Ruth Gray asking if anyone from our committee would like to join the South East Asia Tsunami committee, which was advertised in the Clifton Chronicles this month. Allison is happy to represent CCS and will contact Ruth

5/Update on CRB checks, 6 people outstanding, they should be completed by April.

6/Update on Security and Fire Safety Clinic 18th February 2005 from 2pm to 4pm at the church hall, there will be three guest speakers, one from The Fire and Rescue Service, one from Trading Standards and one from The Police Service. Andrea MacAdam from BRCC will also be attending. Mary Morgan has kindly offered to do the teas and coffees and we would appreciate help distributing leaflets to everyone in Clifton and setting up the hall on the day. Please contact Don Gray if you can help.

7/Duty Rota, due to other commitments, Jacqui is currently unable to continue being a duty co-ordinator, therefore Don is standing in for her week commencing 6/2. Allison will cover week commencing 27/3 for her. A new duty rota will be issued in April. 

8/-The current financial position is £1415.38 in the bank on the 1st February 2005.

-The grant of  £386 will be used to upgrade the mobile phone and to pay for the running costs, as well as to pay for hall hire and costs for Charmaine to do a cooking for singles demonstration in May and also to pay for publicity costs.

9/Promotion and advertising-Article in the Clifton Chronicle about the Security and Fire Safety Clinic this month. Don is also producing a leaflet for every house in Clifton, advertising this Clinic and offering to collect people via the CCS service.

-Don will be advertising Cooking For Singles in the April edition of the chronicle.

10/AOB-We said goodbye to Linda Keeling and wished her all the best for the future.

-Lesley went to the Home Fire Safety Check meeting in December. She would like to go on the training course when it becomes available.
